WENDY SWAHA LINES

Wendy is a yoga teacher and artist and Trustee of Matagiri Sri Aurobindo Center.

After growing up in Northern New Jersey, she graduated from Simmons College in Boston and traveled to Israel and Greece, then headed overland to India. After trekking in Nepal, she headed to Goa, then Pondicherry where she had the Darshan of the Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. 

She spent six years learning yoga philosophy and hatha yoga and French. She pioneered in Auroville, then returned to the US. She lived in Brittany for six years and finally returned to the US and married Julian in 1995. 

She teaches weekly hatha yoga classes at Matagiri. She studied painting with Christie Scheele.
